Have you ever thought about the money that goes into making these brilliant video games? Obviously, someone has thought about that, and they even put the data together in one infographic. Now before presenting the graphic, I have to clarify something. When the creators say “most expensive video games”, they mean video games that cost the most in terms of production. NOT how much the games cost the user.

That being said, GTA V takes on every other video game in history when it comes to the most expensive video games. With a budget of $266 million, GTA V gives the Pirates of the Caribbean 3 a run for its money. Literally.



While you may not be thinking about how much that pretty (intense, amazing, awesome, or whatever adjective you use for your favorite) game cost the studio to make, it might help to put some perspective on just why some video games look and play so much better than others. Of course, a grain of salt is necessary here. While there is some truth to “you get what you pay for”, there are many more awesome games that weren’t money dumps for the production house.
