JBL HORIZON CLOCK RADIO WILL WAKE YOU UP GENTLY WITH AMBIENT LIGHT AND MUSIC Date: 11/14/2014   Views: 0

While there are some people who feel like they’re reborn once the alarm clock goes off in the morning, the truth is that for most of us, mornings are not the favorite part of the day. Some people prefer waking up to metal music, some to Mozart or to the sound of rain falling in the forests of Bali. The point is that everyone wants to wake up exactly the way they like it otherwise chances the day will suck are high. Trying to take care of all these needs, JBL has just announced the Horizon clock radio, a device that is supposed to “light up your mornings (literally!) with JBL stereo sound and ambient light and start your day by charging your phone, tablet, or wearable devices.”

Of course, with the countless number of alarm clock apps available today for mobile phones, one would wonder why would you need a $100 device to wake you up and what can it do that all these apps can’t.

The new clock radion from JBL delivers stereo sound and two different alarms can be set (one of you, one four your significant other) and a wide range of sounds can be chosen, including several original digital alarm tones, the classic buzzer, up to five programmable FM radio presets and, of course, music from smartphones or tablets streamed via Bluetooth.

No news so far, but where the JBL Horizon really shines is when you look at the overall experience. Because the sound part is enriched by the multi-sensory ambient glow of LED lights that wake you up gently. Also, the crisp LCD clock display features a light sensor that automatically adjusts the brightness according to the light in the room so that it’s always easy to read.

Power went out last night? No problem, because the new JBL gadget also has a back-up battery that keeps it running during power outages. In addition to that, it has a couple of USB ports which can be used to charge phones or tablets so you can have them full in the morning when you wake up. And that, we have to admit, is a nice set of features for the little combo gadget.
